NY-21 GOP Candidate to Trump: Sequester Funds to NY

NY 21 Congressional candidate, Rev. Jim Harden, led the charge against NY Dem’s attempt to delay the Special Election to replace Elise Stefanik. Since December 26, anticipated frontrunner, Jim Harden, predicted and then warned GOP leadership at the State and national level that Gov. Hochul and the Democrat controlled legislature would find a way to unconstitutionally deny New Yorkers congressional representation in a timely manner, solely to undercut the Republican majority in the House. Harden said in December, “Based on Hochul’s conspicuous silence on the issue coupled with her willingness to disdain and trample the rights of anyone who might disagree with her secular fundamentalistic ideology, it seems likely she will attempt to rob the nearly 800,000 citizens of New York’s 21st of representation in federal government for the benefit of the Democratic Party.”
As of the first week of February, Gov. Hochul and the New York State legislature began conspiring to fast-track a change in Special Election law, permitting the Governor to leave entire groups of citizens unrepresented until the November general election. To do that, Democrats created and submitted a bill for consideration on Friday February 7. The contrivance received so much pushback that word on Monday February 10 is that the bill is dead.
But this latest illegal move to deny the constitutional right of representation to New York citizens is only one example of a pattern of illegal behavior by New York Democrat politicians. The only Republican candidate in the field to replace Stefanik with a public endorsement and 25 year-long track record of fighting liberal corruption, including Gov. Hochul and AG Letitia James, offers a solution. “President Trump should sequester all funds to New York until the state revokes all its efforts at conspiring to violate Federal law” says Harden.
Conspiring to violate federal law and the Constitutional rights of citizens is not new to New York Democrat politicians. In 2017, under disgraced Gov. Andrew Cuomo, during President Trump’s first term, New York became a sanctuary state for illegal immigrants. Then, under Gov. Kathy Hochul, New York became a sanctuary state for illegal abortionists, even assisting in the violation of federal law (the Comstock Act) through the promulgation of chemical abortion and the protection of criminal abortionists. Regarding a New York abortionist harming a woman in Texas after violating Texas and Federal law, Hochul flagrantly thumbed her nose at the law, recommitting New York as a “safe harbor for all who seek abortion care.”
New York is long overdue for accountability. Rev. Harden said, “If New York Democrats in control of State government wish to exempt New York from Federal law they should expect it be exempt from receiving Federal monies.”
Harden continues, “I ask President Trump to sequester all Federal funding to New York, until such time as the State revokes and repeals all legislation or positions that conspire to circumvent Federal law and rob citizens of their Constitutional rights.”
On January 10, 2025, GOP leaders in New York’s 21st Congressional District included Rev. Jim Harden in a list of names to be considered to replace Congresswoman Elise Stefanik—should she resign to become Ambassador to the United Nations. Currently, Rev. Harden is the anticipated frontrunner. He presently serves as a Councilman in one of the largest and fastest growing towns in Wayne County. Former NY Gubernatorial candidate and current Lewis County Sheriff, Mike Carpinelli, endorsed Rev. Harden, making him the first candidate with an official endorsement.
